Yesterday Purple Lotus Kava Bar were featured in an article regarding KAVA and KAVA BARS IN SOUTH FLORIDA, published by the Palm Beach Post.

The article speaks of a 2002 study into the toxicity of Kava in patients with a pre-disposition to Liver injury and/or disease. Further studies have shown this to include unsubstantial claims. Just A Little Info on Kava

"Kava" is both a plant (the latin name is Piper Methysticum, which literally translates to "intoxicating pepper"), and a beverage that is produced from the root of the plant. Traditionally Kava is consumed for its sedative and anti-anxiety qualities - helping to relax the consumer without disrupting mental clarity. Kava has several associated names including Kava Kava, Grog, Sakau, 'Awa, Yaqona, Kew, and 'Ava.
